Words or Change

A poor writer
Making pennies
A nail biter
No reflection of my abilities

Easy to pick up coins
To buy a cup of coffee
Crouching through my groins
A simple activity

Between two fingers
Pinching the coinage
Showing my butt to admirers
Just wanting a beverage

But writing is hard
Taking much energy
Pick and discard
Much synergy

Creating rhyme
Or paragraphs
To make a dime
And a few laughs

It is the same pay
Picking up coins or writing
I am not eating from the buffet
PB and crackers is exciting

The life I have chosen
To entertain and savor
No riches or acclamation
But one I favor

People from the globe
Making my life brighter
Let us seek and probe

India
Great Britain
Canada
Australia

Germany and the United States
Have read my poems or books
I have great global mates
All taking precious looks

At my travel journal
And my poems and novel
A sense of fraternal
Not submitting to grovel

These people have bought
And spent money to read
Something I have taught
Feelings I want to feed

I am humbled and proud
And enthusiastic and delighted
To entertain a crowd
For things I have copyrighted

There will be more
I modestly dare say
Not to annoy or bore
But to make someones day

Just Write

No more mind drug
No more captivity
No more a slug
No more inactivity
 
I can think and write
There are ideas and activity
My mind is clear and bright
I have vision and creativity
 
What satisfaction
A few words in print
My words have interaction
Now I am on a sprint
 
Create a poem every day
For long as it lasts
And a long time I pray
But there are no hard forecasts
 
Maybe restart my novel
It is all in my head
I will not fall apart and grovel
Just forge ahead
 
I am optimistic about my ability
I know what I want to generate
I have so many possibilities
I have to accept my fate
 
Just create a rhyme
And let them grow
Let the words climb
Creating a sweet flow
